King James Bible 400th Anniversary Video Celebration
King James Bible celebrated its 400th anniversary participated by Queen Elizabeth II as reported earlier. The Bible’s anniversary was celebrated through a special service led by the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowan Williams at England’s famed Westminster Abbey.
During the special service Dr. Williams gave imphasis on the importance of the King James Version to every future translator attempting to keep the Bible modern and relevant.
“People are always surprised how much of the language they use without thinking. It’s just the genius of the language, they were contemporaries of Shakespeare, they could have walked over to the Globe and asked him what he thought,” Professor Pauline Croft, a trustee of the King James Bible Trust was quoted saying in a report.
Meanwhile, the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall, said that the Bible’s impact was not immediately recognized and it took some time to establish itself.
King James Bible 400th Anniversary was attended by 2,000 worshippers together with the queen’s husband Prince Philip, and son, Prince Charles. King James Bible was said to have played a significant achievement for England.
